What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is an ancient form of medicine over 5000 years old, recently revived in China and now very popular in the West.
How does acupuncture work?
It addresses energy flow (chi) in the body to balance and strengthen Yin and Yang, and the vital organs. The therapy uses fine needles inserted into the skin at key points into the body for varying periods of time.

What’s involved in an acupuncture treatment?
A one hour visit. Dr. Wells will ask you a few questions, and then feel your pulse and look at your tongue to come up with a chinese “diagnosis”. This will allow her to know which points are needed to correct the energy block(s) in your body and support the underlying causes of your health issue. Next you will lie down comfortably and Dr. Wells will insert the needles. The acupuncture needles are inserted at a depth of 1/4 to 1/2 inch. The needles remain in for 20 minutes as you relax and listen to soothing music.
When will I start to feel better?
Some patients feel better after one visit. More complex issues need 10 or more visits. Contact Dr. Wells for more information.
