We know now that gut health is the key to a healthy brain and body.  One of the aspects of a healthy gut is a healthy mucus layer over the surface of the gut.  The layer of mucus that covers the internal surfaces of the body is super important to keep healthy.

Why is the gut mucus lining so important?

  1. Because it is the protection from inflammatory stool and digestion material from getting into the bloodstream.
  2. It also is home to the immune system of the gut, called secretory IgA, our first line of defense against pathogens.
  3. Healthy mucous lining can feed our good bacteria.

What happens when the mucus is not strong and thick?

  1. Our gut cells can be damaged and allow things into the blood
  2. We absorb into the blood things we shouldn’t such as pieces of bacteria, toxins, large food particles
  3. This causes inflammation of our body
  4. Which can lead to more serious conditions such as eosinophilic esophagitis, gastritis, ulcerative colitis which is severe inflammation of the gut.
  5. Symptoms can vary from low grade gastrointestinal distress such as mild aches or pains in the abdomen, heartburn, reflux, gas, bloating, loose stool to more severe symptoms
  6. Systemically we can have headaches, nausea, brain fog, fatigue, sensitivities to foods, headaches, anxiety and depression.

Interesting to note that this mucous layer is made up of something called “EZ water” which is a jelly like substance that can vary in thickness.  EZ water has a charge gradient and helps shuttle nutrients across the mucous layer from the lumen of the gut to the bloodstream and it repels toxins and wastes away.  EZ water gets thicker with proper hydration and hydrating foods, sunlight, and a diet rich in light absorbing plant pigments such as curcumin, beets, chlorophyll, and electrolytes and trace minerals.  EZ water gets thinner and damaged when exposed to EMF radiation and foods that contain glyphosate herbicide.  EMF radiation derails the electron charge that links the EZ together into sheets, and so thins the lining.

Tips to increase EZ water in your body and increase the health of your gut lining:

Sunshine

  • Get sunshine daily. Infrared light rays photons (break open water so there are free H+ (positive charge) and organize together with sulfates (negative charge) that make up the EZ water gel layer

Water and minerals

  • Hydrate and use electrolytes and trace minerals (from ancient sea beds or mountain rocks)

Diet

  • Diet should include highly pigmented foods that absorb light such as curcumin (turmeric), beets, chlorophyll (greens), berries
  • Also Cucumbers, watermelon, chia seeds, leafy greens, aloe vera
  • Avoid foods with glyphosate herbicide, seed oils, dyes, preservatives (sodium benzoate, BHA, BHT), artificial sweeteners and refined sugar. Also avoid excess alcohol.

Reduce EMF build up in the body

  • Practice grounding daily 30 minutes, use grounding mats
  • Off WIFI at night, use airplane mode as often as possible, avoid wearing your phone on your body without a hard copper case such as ‘Safesleeve’
  • Epsom salt baths daily increase EZ water by providing Magnesium that opposes the calcium that is overproduced in the body from EMF and Sulfate which protects by increasing EZ Water

Caring for your gut lining means going beyond probiotics and digestive enzymes—it means supporting the very structure that protects your entire system: the mucus layer and the EZ water within it. By nourishing your body with hydration, sunlight, mineral-rich foods, and reducing your exposure to EMFs and dietary toxins, you create the conditions your gut needs to repair, defend, and thrive. Small daily choices—like grounding, getting morning sun, using a SafeSleeve phone and ipad case—can have a profound impact on your digestion, immunity, and even your mood. Your gut lining is your inner armor—treat it like the powerful barrier it is.
